>:[ A lot of Christians do and it makes me very displeased! When I discuss various things with them, an obvious and very sad theme comes up: People give a shit more about what's written in the old testament than ANYTHING Jesus said.
I thought the whole point of being a Christian was to be "Christ like", meaning you would follow what Jesus had to teach before anything else.
I will teach you of Jesus (since the Church obviously failed): Jesus main messages were salvation, forgiveness, love, caring, exceptance, etc... not hating people for their sins or because they follow a different belief system. Jesus accepted people for who and what they are, he didn't expect anything more than to follow his example. Taking some sketchy text from the old testament and saying "you have to change x about yourself for Jesus to love you" IS A LIE!
Anyway the drawing may be shitty (I did it pretty quickly so I didn't put much effort into anatomy and such) but I just wanted to get this message out because it was buging me.
Yes, I'm an atheist by trade but I personally follow the message Jesus gave (I was raised as a Catholic) and it sickens me how hateful and bigoted some Christians are

Absolutely agree 100% on this. And its for this reason that I avoid church (and the bible since its been translated & reprinted so many friggin' times that you dont know what's what anymore). Why can't people be more liberal/open minded instead of being these ignorant close minded people? It's sickening and gets on my nerves more times than I can imagine. (*was also raised a Catholic*) If everyone could just listen to what Jesus said in the first damn place we wouldn't have this problem T_T *goes to huggle Jesus*
